{"id":666,"date":"2004-09-07T11:43:12","date_gmt":"2004-09-07T18:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kattywilly.com\/blog\/?p=666"},"modified":"2004-09-07T11:43:12","modified_gmt":"2004-09-07T18:43:12","slug":"bad-things-and-good-things","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kattywilly.com\/blog\/?p=666","title":{"rendered":"Bad things and good things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t talked about the tragedy in Russia.&nbsp; I find it hard to<br \/>\neven think about it.&nbsp; And there was this hurricane thing going on<br \/>\naround here.<\/p>\n<p>Today <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.weblogs.com\/2004\/09\/07#betterNews\">Doc pointed<\/a> me <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blaserco.com\/blogs\/2004\/09\/06.html\">over here<\/a><br \/>\nwhich made me realize that like my attempts to deal with my loss and<br \/>\ntrying to be happy again, that there may be a way for me to respond to<br \/>\nthe bad things in the world by responding in a way that contributes to<br \/>\nthe good in the world and allow me to focus my energies not on the bad<br \/>\nthings I can&#8217;t control and instead on the good things I can.<\/p>\n<p>When the newspaper reporter called me after the accident, and again<br \/>\nafter the civil traffic court appearance by the man who killed<br \/>\nCindy,&nbsp; I felt as if he was looking for my feelings towards this<br \/>\nman.&nbsp; I responded then that I couldn&#8217;t focus any of my energy on<br \/>\nhim that I had to focus on raising my daughters and doing everything I<br \/>\ncan for them.&nbsp; Parhaps I can do that with things like the horrors<br \/>\nof what happened in Russia too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t talked about the tragedy in Russia.&nbsp; I find it hard to even think about it.&nbsp; And there was this hurricane thing going on around here.
