Each manufacturer has a different naming scheme.  Most of<br \/>\nmy photos these days are taken with an old Canon A60.  It names all the<br \/>\nimages with sequential file numbers.  One of the ones I posted the other<br \/>\nnight was IMG_4096.jpg.  That&#8217;s a mildly interesting number from a<br \/>\nprogrammers perspective 0x1000, but for some reason I wondered if anyone<br \/>\nelse had posted an image from their camera possibly a Canon with the<br \/>\nsame numbering scheme.  So of course <a \nhref=\"http:\/\/images.google.com\/images?q=IMG_4096.jpg\">I Googled it<\/a>.<br \/>\nWhat an interesting set of images.  And you get <a \nhref=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=IMG_4096.jpg\">a whole different<br \/>\nworld on the web side.<\/a>  Sort of like the secret life of the image<br \/>\nnamed <a \nhref=\"http:\/\/radio.weblogs.com\/0100146\/images\/2005\/08\/27\/IMG_4096.jpg\">IMG_4096.jpg<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was looking at the photos I posted from the other night and for some reason started thinking about how digital cameras name the image files they produce.
