It&#8217;s enthralling to listen to her<br \/>\nexperience being a mother, and wife, and all sorts of other<br \/>\nroles.  It&#8217;s the mother and wife that gets me every time.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dooce.com\/archives\/nubbin\/10_17_2005.html\">Today she writes<\/a><br \/>\nabout transitions in the lives of our children and describes her<br \/>\ntransition from breastfeeding as &#8220;it felt like my own life was slipping<br \/>\nthrough my fingers like sand.&#8221;  She finishes her piece with a<br \/>\nfacetious description of two points of view on these transitions with<br \/>\n&#8220;and isn&iacute;t it great that they can think about sex <span class=\"caps\">WHEN WE<\/span>&iacute;RE <span class=\"caps\">DYING.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>God I wish that Cindy had picked up the journaling bug.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dooce.com\/archives\/daily\/09_02_2005.html\">The gifts<br \/>\nthat Heather&#8217;s daughter Leta will have<\/a> in the writings of her mother as<br \/>\nshe decribes the process of raising her are priceless.  It&#8217;s<br \/>\nalmost as if she really understands the potential reality in those<br \/>\nwords &#8220;WHEN WE&#8217;RE DYING&#8221;.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Heather really gets it.
