Here is what I'm looking to do. Keep our photos organized.
Have a way
to move the images from computer to computer (or OS to OS)
and maintain
the organization. Take the new MacBook to Italy and
automate the photo
workflow as we take pictures. I'm expecting that between
the girls and
I we will have many gigabytes of photos each day. I just
bought four
1GB SD cards to add to our collection.
Also more long term I would like to take the 20-40 GB of
images I have
from the old days and auto magically organize them based on
the date the
images were taken as determined from the EXIF data stored
in the image
files.
Get an image read the EXIF for the date taken, and if it
doesn't already
exist, create a folder based on that info in YYYY-MM-DD
format, and
copy/move the image into that folder.
I can then go through and append a description to the
folder names that
would describe the event/location for those images.
I would also like to be able to create a workflow that
would do a
similar process when I insert a memory card. Perhaps prompt
for a
descriptive event/location name that will be appended to
the date and
then create the folder and copy the images from the memory
card.
In my morning wandering I found some links that might have
