I think we are packed…

I think we are packed and ready to go. We are off to Miami for the 1st Annual Miami Open USFSA Basic Skills Competition. Lindsey skates tomorrow in three different events. She had one lat practice this morning and was landing most of her jumps. I hope she does well. The weekend update may have to be postponed this week as we will probably be home late Sunday night.

Aunt Diane was a real trooper on Halloween Night. She was in California for work and flew back Halloween night. She got in at the airport and called Chelsey to see how we were doing, and decided she needed to come here, instead of going home after a long week and long day of travelling. As much as I felt bad about her having to make a long trip even longer, I was glad to see her show up at the front door. It made our Halloween a little more special. Thanks!

Yesterday was a pretty good…

Yesterday was a pretty good day.

I started writing down some of the thoughts I had about our day yesterday. I kind of got carried away. I ended up converting it to a Story and posted it in my stories section. It’s kind of long but if you’ve got some extra time let me know what you think.

We had a pretty good Friday.

We had a great Halloween. Not quite as many trick or treaters as in years past but still enough to keep me (and Petr and Uncle Scott) hopping giving out candy. Aunt Diane was able to make it even though she just flew in from California. She should sleep good tonight 🙂 The day started with an incredible sunrise, and then off to work where many people come to the office in costume. Then home to dinner and see the girls off to trick or treating. Be sure to check out the photos!

Tonight we got the pumpkins ready for Halloween tomorrow night. We usually get the carving done a little earlier than this but it was a busy weekend, and well….

Anyway, there are photos, so check them out.

One of the places I…

One of the places I go online for support is WidowNet. I spend some time every week on the message boards keeping track of how ‘we’ are all doing.

Lately I’ve been starting to feel tired all the time. At first I just thought I must not be getting enough sleep, but I’ve been getting to bed at a reasonable time, and sleeping in on the weekends. Over on the Widownet message boards there currently is a thread that ‘everyone’ is using to express how tired they are. As I read through the posts I realized that I’m not alone, and that the tired I’m feeling isn’t just physically tired it is emotionally and mentally tired. If you want to know a little of what it is like to be a widow/widower reading these posts may give you a little insight.

We had another whirlwind of…

We had another whirlwind of a weekend. We started Friday at the Pumpkin Patch and then went out to dinner to celebrate the great grade cards that the girls got. Saturday was filled with Lindsey’s preparations for the latest Bat Miztvah that evening, and Chelsey and I went to the neighborhood Halloween party. Next I had yet another surprise birthday party to go to. Sunday I was able to watch the new Bucs offence look just like the old one 🙂 Then finish up some of the chores and it’s time for another week.

Check out the photos from our party filled weekend.

One of the things I…

One of the things I can do with my weblog is look at the referers. That is I can see how people get refered to my weblog. Generally it is via one of the big search engines, Google, Yahoo, etc.

I can’t see who is coming to my site I can only see where they came from and in the case of search engines the referer information includes the search terms.

I sometimes wish I knew who was out there searching for: “Cynthia Ann Jones” or “Cindy 2002”

I know in the back of my mind that there are old friends that should know about Cindy but I haven’t been able to reach them. I have pictures of some of them that I’ve found going through all the old stuff in the closets. Maybe some of them will find this site.

There is an intense feeling…

There is an intense feeling of dependency, trust, faith, security, love that children have for their parents.

It is an immense, if not sometimes overwhelming, responsibility that parents share to provide the security, safety, concern, support, encouragement and loving environment that alows their children to have those feelings.
