Friends of Jaclyn – Heaven and Hell meet on the 9th floor

After I graduated from Deerfield High School I moved to Evanston with my older brother and worked full time at Highland Park Hospital where I eventually met my wife Cindy.  While living in Evanston I spent plenty of time on the campus of Northwestern, not as a student but as a “townie” who loved to ride around the Lakefill and campus on my bicycle. It is a spectacularly beautiful campus on Lake Michigan, and university I could only imagine attending.

Since Lindsey started school at Northwestern I have been following as much of the NU activities as I can.   The sports teams had a good season, the football team played to a 9-4 record and played in the Alamo bowl, and the basketball team played in the NIT tournament.  The teams with the best results in recent years have been some of the women’s teams especially tennis and Lacrosse.  The Lady Wildcats have won the Lacrosse National Championship the last four years.  The story of the Northwestern Ladies Lacrosse team is pretty amazing. Lake the Posts a NU football blog pointed me to the story of Friends of Jaclyn.

For any parent this story is guaranteed to bring on more than a few tears and partly explain the motivation that drives a group of young women to achieve in the sport of Lacrosse.
