“It’s taken a long rocky road to get here, but we’re here. Some place better. And now I see that the one who loses the most, somehow wins. I was on to something.”  Halley

I’ve had similar thoughts, but I don’t know that my feeling is one of winning, not sure what it is, finding, growing, learning, understanding, living.

And Halley adds “and it seems a true thing — we want to think of winning [as] shiny and golden — something like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but the older I get, the more I see “winners” who can simply endure and keep putting one foot in front of the other.”

That certainly gives a good description of what the girls and I do every day, “endure” as we keep putting one foot in front of the other.
