BELOVED WIFE

BELOVED WIFE
Words & Music by Natalie Merchant
———————————

You were the love
for certain of my life
you were simply my beloved wife
I don’t know for certain
how I’ll live my life
now alone without my beloved wife
my beloved wife

I can’t believe
I’ve lost the very best of me

Here are some photos so…

Here are some photos so I’d have an excuse to send out an email update 🙂 There have been some beautiful flowers out on the deck so I tried to get some photos. I think the digital camera is on it’s way out. It can’t seem to focus all the time, and it is having a harder time than ever exposing.

Here are some pix from one of Chelsey’s Girl Scout meetings.

“The radio signal that comes out of the AM and FM dials is undergoing a major overhaul, one that will not only bring FM-quality sound to the AM side and CD-quality sound to FM programming but also will open the doors for new technology on the radio, including time-shifting capabilities.”

People don’t really want time shifting. I mean, who really wants to record some music that is playing now when you don’t want to hear, it so you can wait and hear some other time. What people want is to be able to pick what they want to hear, when they want to hear it. That is the beauty of the P2P systems where I can say, “I want to hear that old Cyrus Faryar song ‘Livin in a Land of Sunshine’, and then go find it on the Net somewhere and listen to it now. The power of the Napster world is the ease that you can find what you want to listen to when you want to listen to it, like right NOW!

The power of the Net is that when the record companies won’t do that for us we can do it for ourselves.

In Remembrance Of Halleys Past

In Remembrance Of Halleys Past “People without kids won’t get this, I’m afraid, but believe me, the responsibility of a child is all-encompassing.”

Halley was talking the other day about having some time to herself
without the kids and mentioned, referring to her son, how “there is no
greater luxury than waking up knowing he is fine, but with his other
parent”. One of the things that I miss now is that “luxury” of some
time off, some relief from the all-encompassing responsibility. I don’t
get much opportunity for that anymore. It’s not that I worry about how
well all my moms will take care of the girls, it’s just that
all-encompassing feeling that I think only parents truly know, and the
lack of an other parent to share the responsibility with. With all the
other chores and responsibilities we shared, that I have had to take on
myself and delegate to my moms, the thing that wears me down the most
right now is not having someone to hand that responsibility to every
now and then.

“This Night Won’t Last Forever”

By Bill LaBounty & R. Freeland

“Everybody likes a celebration
Happy music and conversation
But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have the blues
In the corner there’s a couple dancing
From the kitchen I can hear her laughing
Oh I wish I was celebrating, too

I know this night won’t last forever
And I know the sun is gonna shine sometime
And I need some hope for a bright tomorrow
To show this heart is gonna mend just fine”

Just looked out back and…

Just looked out back and saw a “flock” of Robins in the back yard. We don’t normally see Robins in this part of Florida. It was really amazing as there were at least a few dozen in our yard and more out front and on the other side of the hedge. Couldn’t get any pictures with my dinky little camera though 🙁
