Sunday Morning Blog Environment

A picture named IMGP3074.jpg
A most beautiful Sunday Morning. I sat out front with my friends the one eyed squirrel,
the pair of Cardinals, numerous mourning doves, a woodpecker of some
sort, very noisy blue jays as well as a frog that was hiding out in the
patio umbrella. I had a nice cup of coffee and some biscuits with jam
while I read the news, both electronic and the old fashioned kind. Photos here.

The Dinner and the Dance

Tonight is the Homecoming Dance. I posted some photos of Lindsey
and her date. This has been a very different experience for
me. In years past when we had these kinds of events there was a
gaggle of girls getting ready for a dance and before we left one boy
would join all these girls for our photo ops. This year Lindsey
was invited to the prom and she and I drove over to his house for the
photo ops. As you can see by the photos there has been a switch.

It Makes No Difference

Cleaning up the house trying to make room for the Halloween
decorations. For cleaning music I’m listening to old LP’s.
Right now it’s an old record by The Band, “Northern Lights – Southern Cross”.

It Makes No Difference

“It makes no diff’rence how far I go
Like a scar the hurt will always show
It makes no diff’rence who I meet
They’re just a face in the crowd
On a dead-end street

And the sun don’t shine anymore
And the rains fall down on my door”

I’ve always thought that Robbie Robertson’s guitar on that song sounded
as emotional as any guitar playing I’d ever heard before.

Homecoming Football

Tonight was the big homecoming football game for the Clearwater
Tornadoes. It was a beautiful night for football, clear and
cool. The Tornadoes took on Dunedin and it was a fun filed game
with lots of scoring. Clearwater came out on top. Tomorrow
is the Homecoming dance.A picture named IMGP3035.jpg

Homecoming

It’s homecoming week for Lindsey’s high school.  She has been very
busy with events every night this week.  Tomorrow is the big game
against Dunedin.  I’m glad Lindsey is participating in all the
school spirit events.  I think that the sense of belonging has
carried over from elementary and middle school.

I wonder if they will be doing anything special for Rebecca McKinney
who went to Lindsey’s school.  Her accident was on the same road
as our accident.  Somehow these stories hit me much harder than
they ever did before.  I guess it may be as simple as sympathizing
with the pain the family is feeling.

Clothes Folding Music

How about some Clothes Folding Music:

“So hard to answer future’s riddle
When ahead is seeming so far behind
So hard to laugh a child-like giggle
When the tears start to torture my mind
So hard to shed the life of before
To let my soul automatically soar

But I hit hard at the battle that’s confronting me, yeah
Knock down all the road blocks a-stumbling me
Throw off all the shackles that are binding me down”

Rain

Some rain falling in someone’s life.  As long as it isn’t Matthew and it’s not falling on me 🙂
