“When I saw the break of day
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand
My heart is drenched in wine
But you’ll be on my mind
Forever”

Pre-Party photos of Lindsey’s latest outing.
Chelsey will be competing Saturday October the 18th at 1:14 at the Westfield Countryside Mall. Good Luck Chelsey!
Um… Yea, I noticed that the 18th isn’t Saturday. I’m checking with Petr to find out what day it really is.
Chelsey has an ice skating competition on October 18 or 19th. We usually don’t get the actual schedule until the week before. The competition is being held at the Westfield Countryside Mall rink and will be Chelsey’s first competition since the accident. We are all looking forward to Chelsey getting back to competition.
Dave linked to me yesterday as part of his ongoing discussion of Health and the Web. I had sent him an email talking about the things I’m doing here. I told Dave that “There is a certain therapy that I achieve by forcing myself to find something positive, even Fun, going on in our lives that I can then post to the weblog”.
I also mentioned the virtual counseling I’ve been doing with Bernie over at DeepFun. It is an example of Health and the Net, as I’ve never met Bernie in person but our relationship has grown deep through our connection via the online collaboration tools we use during our sessions.
Thanks Dave, and everyone else who stops by, for the well wishes and kind thoughts.

We decided yesterday that it was time to clean the frog house. These litle guys secrete a toxin that apparently accumulates on the surfaces in the tank. If you let it go too long it can be toxic to the frogs themselves.
This one is actually named Frog. |

When I went out to take the photos of the Spider Lilies the other day another unusual thing happened.
When we first moved in to the house the peacocks used to come by almost every day. We would be sitting on the deck and they would walk right in and eat out of your hand. They would also sneak up to the screen door, while we sat inside reading the newspaper, and scream that piercing peacock scream and scare the crap out of you 🙂 Well, slowly they stopped coming as often and now we hardly see them in our neighborhood, they seem to spend all their time in the neighborhood just north of us. As I walked back to the house I noticed a group of young male peacocks walking up the sidewalk across the street. |

Last night was the first Junior Cotillion dance. Lindsey went with her fiends Allie and Dana. She went down to Dana’s early in the afternoon to get ‘ready’. There was plenty of work on their makeup, hair and dresses.
There are many parts of being a mom that I can do, but makeup, hair and dresses isn’t one of them, at least not yet. Many thanks again to my mom’s who are all helping me with so many of those tasks.
It was really amazing to see the transformation of giggling girls into proper young ladies. At least they looked proper until they tried walking in those high heels 🙂 There was a lot of giggling little girls afterwards as they described their dance cards to us.

We have had these plants out front around the power company transformer box almost from the time the house was built 17 years ago. We got the bulbs from a friend that Cindy worked with and I don’t think we actually ever knew what they were.
We kept waiting each year in the spring but they never bloomed, but they looked nice during the summer and kind of hid the big green box and required much less maintenance than shrubs do. We always talked about getting rid of them and finding something that actually bloomed and had some color, other than green 🙂 Well this weekend when I was out doing yardwork I noticed something blooming in those plants! They have finally decided to bloom, or perhaps someone decided to help them bloom for us. |
Peggy alerted me that these are Spider Lilies. |

| The hibiscus out front never really bloomed either, but that was mostly because I keep trimming it back so it doesn’t cover the front of the house. Well it is blooming as well as are some of the other plants around the house. Spring has re-sprung! |

Today was my birthday. Our friends gave me a surprise party. I had a great time relaxing with good friends and family. Be sure to check out the photos.
