food is good

Tonight I wasn’t afflicted with Acute Omphaloskepsis, instead I was
enjoying some dinner.  I had some cheeses, a Morbier, Manchego, a
Dry Monterey Jack and a semi soft French cheese that I can’t remember the
name of.  The dry Monterey Jack is a hard cheese almost like a
fresh Parmesan. With the cheeses I had some Yellow Delicious Apple and
a Champagne Mango that was really sweet and tasty.  Add some
crackers and a glass of Thirsty Lizard from Australia and it was a
gastronomic extravaganza.

I really like food.  I’m working on improving the quality while trying to cut down on the quantity.

Note: I started this post…

Note:  I started this post days ago and never got a chance to
finish it.  I was going to leave it for later but forgot that
Radio would publish it the next time I published another item to my
blog.  I’m sure there are times when I’m not very coherent and my
writing sounds half baked, but this time it’s just because it is half
baked.  I need to finish mixing the ingredients and then bake it.

This morning Halley talks about why she keeps fit.
It is an interesting article. It made me think about a bunch of
different things. Her comment about age and raising kids.

I have several of the same concerns when it comes to being healthy long
enough to see the girls through college. It makes me think about
how parents look at time. I wonder if those without children have
the same perspective on the future. There is always the near
future. That is either the school year or the summer
vacation. Each year is broken into those two major segments,
school and summer. The school year is generally divided into
smaller segments bounded by holidays and vacation. Spring break,
the Thanksgiving break and the Christmas vacation.

And the talk about fitness made me think about food.

Eyes into my soul.

Go, look at this photo.
It is as if this girl is looking into my soul. I can’t turn away,
and her eyes are looking into me. And then there is her sister,
friend? Gently touching the flower in her hair, with a smile that is
filled with such happiness and wonder. I find myself thinking
about the photo for some reason.  It has a really nice bokeh too.

Birthday Carol

Listening to old Todd Rundgren records on the record player. I
think that these old albums sound even better with a little bit of
extra noise from the clicks and pops from many playings so long ago.

“Now I feel the worst for older people
winding out their friendless hours alone
Seeing lives like plays at final curtain
looking out to find everyone has gone home.
Is there something I can pray to?
Some offering I can send?
Or some ear that I can play to, to help him find a friend?
And maybe then redeem myself to keep me from that end
For the evening comes and who knows when.”

Then they stay dead.”

dreams

I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart so long. If we’re in each
other’s dreams, we can play together all night. ~Bill Watterson,

Hold Me

Hold Me

Halley talks about, holding men, to higher standards. I don’t really
care what standards

women want to hold men to,

I just want one of them to hold me.

Wi-Fi everywhere

Okay, I just mentioned the lack of Wi-Fi everywhere, and here it comes,
in Canada.  And the author of the article is talking about the
Wireless Streaming Internet Receiver too!  I can’t wait and at
this pace I might not have to.

Streaming Internet Receiver

Nokia is making the device I want
I won’t be ready for a little while yet, but that’s ok we don’t have
Wi-Fi everywhere yet.  But once there is Wi-Fi everywhere this
thing will be really cool.

It is built on top of and with
open source software

so there is the potential for all kinds of applications to be created
for it.  I can’t wait.  The Streaming Internet Receiver.
