For music I downloaded the new Rickie Lee Jones from iTunes this
morning. Had to try out the new PC version and it’s just as
smooth as the Mac version.

My poetry for today is a little of Rogers Cadenhead’s Radio Userland Kickstart. It came in the mail yesterday and I can’t wait to dig in.

My fine picture is Asya Schween’s Thank God She’s Breathing.

And I would add, eat some good food! Today it started with a
toasted bagel with a little pate with truffles and cream cheese,
yum!  Once the weather cools down a little I can order some Pleasant Ridge Reserve.

Here’s to some beauty in the soul.

It’s getting closer to Halloween so the girls and I went to Howl-O-Scream with some of their friends.  I was the designated Chaperone once again.  I should look into doing this full time 🙂

Picture happiness – what comes to mind? “The first thought is my daughter. I know if my daughter’s not happy, I can’t be happy, and if she’s happy, then all kinds of things can come my way.”

The hardest thing for me to deal with is the thought of my daughters loss.  There is a constant sense of loss for what they won’t have.  It is hard to imagine them being happy knowing what they have lost and the things they will never get to experience because of that loss.  Ihope that the reality of their sense of loss is less than what I fear it is.  I see them having fun all the time at the different venues I chaperone them to.  But, “you can’t choose to be happy, but you can choose to have fun.”  As much as I use that as a mantra for working towards being happy again through trying to have fun, it can also be seen in the view that there is nothing that guarantees that you are happy, just because you are having fun.

The Coachman Middle School 8th Grade went on a field trip to the Everglades and my friend Jan took some great photos.

Oh, and what’s up with the Cubs?  I was all set to celebrate last night.  I hope I get the chance tonight.

Lindsey (and I) got up early this morning so she could get to school by 5:45 am for the 8th grade overnight field trip to the Florida Everglades.  It sounds like they will have tons of fun.  I miss her already.

Our cable modem quit on us over the weekend.  We were Internet free for a while there.  Now we are back online.

Today I was again the designated concert Chaperone.  The venue was interesting, the Neptune Lounge and Cyclery.  That’s right, Bands and Bikes.  They are located right along the Pinellas Trail and customers come in for bicycle repairs as well as music and refreshments.
